G2 posted the goodbye on 29 Sep. Álvaro “SunPayus” García is off the roster. Fourteen months. The last three of them on the bench.
He arrived in July 2025 after m0NESY went to Falcons. One month in, G2 won BLAST Open London 2025. The year after that did not look like London. In June they put Artem “r1nkle” Moroz in the AWP and left SunPayus in the unused chair. The 29 Sep post just makes the chair official.
G2’s line on X thanked him for leadership and “the sick shots.” It did not name a next team. That matters. People will write FUT over cmtry as if the paper is signed. It is not, as of this morning. He leaves as a free agent. Treat FUT as a rumour until FUT or SunPayus say it.
sAw’s version in June was style, not a stat sheet: the room already had passive players and they wanted an AWP who walked forward. r1nkle was that bet. Whether that bet is working is a different article. This one is only the paperwork.
What we think
This is a late stamp on a decision from summer. Do not write it as a shock. Do not write a FUT lineup until there is a post from FUT. The market print today is still $5.15B and has nothing to do with an AWP change in G2.
Take: AFMetrics. G2 announcement: 29 Sep 2026. Next club unconfirmed.
